Personal Assistant Application for Truck Drivers

Agmis is excited to announce the development of a personal assistant application, the system streamlined operations and improved both driver efficiency and delivery reliability.

Our client

is one of Europe’s largest road freight companies. Together we built a comprehensive personal assistant application for truck drivers.

Challenge?

Managing a large, cross-border fleet presents serious challenges in route communication, navigation accuracy, and document handling. The clients drivers needed a reliable and centralized tool to stay connected with their dispatchers, access updated route plans, and report issues while on the move.

Previously, critical tasks like freight document submission, route changes, and fleet communication were scattered across different tools or handled manually, leading to delays and inefficiencies. The system also had to work in areas with limited connectivity requiring robust offline navigation capabilities and seamless syncing when 4G or Wi-Fi was available.

The goal was to simplify daily driver workflows with a single driver assistant platform that could integrate routing, messaging, and telematics, all while being rugged and intuitive enough for real-world use.

Solution?

Agmis developed a custom Android-based driver assistant app tailored for the clients fleet, deployed on 4G-connected rugged tablets for use in trucks. The app integrates a suite of tools into one seamless platform, simplifying the day-to-day tasks of international truck drivers.

Built on OpenStreetMaps, the solution includes full offline navigation, ensuring uninterrupted routing even in remote areas. Drivers receive real-time route updates and task assignments via 4G or Wi-Fi, thanks to integration with the client’s route optimization engine. A built-in messaging system enables direct communication with the transport manager, while photo capture features allow instant sharing of freight documents or delivery confirmations.

Beyond navigation and communication, the app also aggregates telematics data and supports over-the-air software updates, keeping the entire system secure and current without requiring downtime. By combining multiple operational tools into a single package, Agmis helped the client deliver a more connected, efficient, and driver-friendly experience across its fleet.
