Our client

is one of the leading online retailers in the Nordic region, operating a massive international e-commerce marketplace that features over 2 million products from thousands of third-party vendors. With an ambitious focus on growth and optimization, the company continually invests in enhancing its back-end operations and digital infrastructure.

Challenge?

Operating a high-volume online marketplace with millions of SKUs and thousands of vendors comes with a unique set of technical and operational challenges. The client needed to ensure seamless performance across a vast e-commerce backend infrastructure, including order management, vendor data synchronization, and real-time inventory updates.

Key priorities included integrating the platform with enterprise-level accounting software (Navision), implementing scalable web services, and managing large arrays of product and transaction data. With such a large data footprint, the client also required a high-performance search and indexing solution to deliver fast and accurate results, especially during peak sales periods. Additionally, building out a customer loyalty program added complexity to the backend customer management workflows, requiring real-time personalization and data tracking.

Solution?

Agmis worked closely with the client’s internal tech team to optimize and extend their e-commerce backend architecture. Our developers implemented a smooth integration with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision), enabling automated accounting workflows that sync with order and inventory data in real time.

To enhance platform performance and reliability, we built and optimized multiple web services to support vendor data management, order processing, and customer interactions. The team also deployed Elasticsearch, significantly improving the speed and accuracy of product search across millions of listings.

Working with large, complex data arrays, we fine-tuned backend processes to ensure scalability and system stability. In parallel, we supported the design and development of a customer loyalty program, introducing reward logic, user tiering, and integration with customer profiles further enriching the platform’s value proposition for end users.

This project allowed Agmis to apply its deep knowledge of enterprise e-commerce platforms and deliver sustainable, long-term impact for a multinational retailer.
