Agmis-Built GrainODM Takes Home “AI Innovation of the Year” 2025 Award

AI innovation of the year award GrainODM

AI Lithuania has recognized our grain quality analysis system as the most impactful AI innovation of the year – a milestone that reflects our team’s growing expertise in applying computer vision to complex industrial problems.

Earlier this month, our team stood on stage at the AI Lithuania awards ceremony to accept the “AI Innovation of the Year” 2025 honor for GrainODM, an automated grain inspection system we’ve been developing and refining over the past several years.

For those unfamiliar, GrainODM tackles a problem that’s plagued grain processors for decades: the slow, inconsistent nature of manual quality inspection. During harvest season, laboratories can receive hundreds of samples per day, each requiring careful assessment for defects, foreign materials, and quality parameters. Our system handles this in seconds with accuracy that matches or exceeds trained inspectors.

Why This Award Matters to Us

Lithuania has become a genuine hub for AI talent and innovation. Receiving recognition from AI Lithuania – an organization that evaluates projects across healthcare, fintech, manufacturing, and other sectors – tells us we’re solving problems that matter beyond our immediate client base.

The judges specifically noted the real-world impact: mills and laboratories using the system have fundamentally changed how they operate during their busiest periods. That’s the kind of outcome we aim for with every project at Agmis.

The Broader Picture

We don’t talk about it often, but GrainODM grew directly from our work in industrial computer vision – the same foundations that power our manufacturing defect detection and quality control projects. The core challenge is universal: teaching machines to see and evaluate with consistency that humans can’t maintain over thousands of repetitions.

This award validates an approach we believe in deeply. Start with a genuine operational problem. Build something that works in real conditions, not just controlled environments. Measure outcomes that matter to the people using it.

Congratulations to the Team

Awards belong to the people who do the work. Our AI researchers, engineers, and the agricultural specialists who helped us understand what grain inspectors actually need – this recognition is theirs.

We’re already back at it, expanding what the system can detect and exploring where else these capabilities might apply.
